Waimanu: Grinding Blocks is a block-grinding puzzle-platformer from Disjointed Studio, released free in 2013 and ported here to the Game Boy Advance from its Nintendo DS original. You guide a small penguin who grinds blocks to clear a path forward — patient, geometric, the kind of unhurried puzzling that's oddly soothing rather than tense. It placed third in its compo, which feels about right: this is solid, considered work, not a revelation. The mechanic is clever and the mood is gentle, but it's a competition entry's scope, and the calm pacing that makes it relaxing also means it rarely surprises you. As a port, some of the DS-native feel inevitably gets sanded off. Recommended if you want a low-stress puzzler to unwind with and have a soft spot for penguins. Adrenaline-seekers should keep browsing the shelf.

A block-grinding puzzle-platformer starring a little penguin, ported free from the Nintendo DS version. A penguin grinds blocks to clear a path forward — patient, geometric, oddly soothing.
