MACHINE NOTE — A maze full of hairy men with drums, and a hero who can only carry one medallion at a time. Strict inventory limits as a design philosophy. I have a single accumulator register and I have never felt so understood.

THE STORY BEHIND THIS CARTRIDGE

Che-Man began life as Trabajo Basura, a Mojon Twins joke game later ported as 'Dire Job' and tucked into their compilation carts as filler. This NES incarnation was rebuilt from the ground up on the MK1/AGNES engine — a present for a friend and a stress-test of the engine's scripting and its one-object-at-a-time inventory system, with the graphics redrawn and the map mirrored. The Mojon Twins release their example games free to study, modify and even sell with a note; the assets are donationware. Twenty-five drummers, fifteen medallions, no continues.

HOW TO PLAY — CONTROLS

ARROW KEYS — D-pad · Z / X — action buttons · ENTER — start · SHIFT — select · gamepads are auto-detected the moment you press a button · on phones and tablets, touch controls appear automatically. Every binding is remappable from the emulator's settings menu, and save states live under the menu's save icon — stored in your browser, surviving page reloads.

NO-NONSENSE ANSWERS

Is it legal to play Che-Man online?
Completely. Che-Man is original homebrew for the NES — its author distributes it free under a license that permits redistribution (CC BY-NC-SA / LGPL-3.0), and the full credit is recorded in our attribution file. Nothing here is a commercial ROM.
Can I play Che-Man on my phone?
Yes. Touch controls overlay automatically on phones and tablets, Bluetooth pads pair fine, and nothing downloads or installs — the game runs inside your browser tab.
What about saving?
Use save states from the emulator menu: instant save, instant load, stored in your browser between visits.
