Bringing your saves

If you were already emulating on a phone or another handheld, copy the .srm, .state, and memory-card files into the matching folders under ~/Emulation/saves and RetroArch will pick them up. Saves trapped inside a physical cartridge's battery-backed SRAM need a hardware dumper to extract — the same tool you'd use to rip the ROM legally in the first place. If you want Mario Kart World and the next Zelda, or you want to hand a machine to someone who will never open Desktop Mode, or you simply cannot justify $789 for a handheld, the Switch 2 at $449.99 is the correct and cheaper choice — buy it before September 1 and pocket the fifty dollars.
