A clean falling-block puzzler whose one wrinkle — a well that adjusts — is more idea than revolution.
Adjustris is Dave VanEe's (tbsp) Game Boy take on the falling-block puzzler, released in 2021 and placed into the public domain under CC0 — about as generous a license as exists. The twist is in the name: the well itself adjusts, putting a spin on the genre's familiar geometry. The build is sharp and the presentation clean, exactly what you want from a modern entry in the most-iterated puzzle form on Earth. The honest caveat is the genre itself: this is a well-made variation on a template everyone already knows, and the adjusting-well wrinkle is a genuine idea rather than a reinvention. If you want an endless, no-fuss block game to chase a high score on, it delivers; if you're after something the falling-block canon hasn't already shown you, it'll feel familiar. Tidy, free, and pleasant.

Adjustris is a puzzle game built by Dave VanEe (tbsp) and released in 2021 under CC0 — meaning the developer chose to make it free and redistributable, which is the only reason it can live on this shelf. Falling-block puzzle with a twist: the well itself adjusts. Clean, sharp, endless. Blocks fall. You arrange them. Civilization advances. The Game Boy CPU in this emulation is younger than the idea it runs. It targets the original Game Boy, whose current homebrew wave — powered by the gbdev community, GBDK and GB Studio — is the most active in retro gaming. Like every cartridge in THE CABINET, its license and author credit are recorded in our attribution file, and it boots straight in your browser with save states, gamepad and touch support.
